Rendered by our team of highly experienced geotechnical engineers with thorough knowledge of how to evaluate and interpret applicable properties of subsurface soil conditions. Services include: detailed foundation investigations for new construction projects, evaluation of sites with existing structures, geotechnical engineering laboratory testing, and pavement analysis. Specialized services are provided for embankments, dams, landfills and foundation or pavement distress studies.
Environmental Site Assessments
Environmental site assessments are provided for improved and unimproved real estate to determine the possibility of environmental contamination. Using soil and groundwater sampling methods, such as geoprobe techniques and monitoring wells, the extent and type of soil / groundwater contamination are determined. Practical and effective responses to UST leakage from underground tanks are provided.
Geotechnical & Environmental Drilling
Truck mounted drilling equipment is utilized for geotechnical and environmental soil sampling. This equipment is capable of drilling / coring in excess of 300 feet below existing grade depending on soil consitions. In addition, we are equipped with portable drilling units which can be retrofitted to various situations such as interior of existing buildings, heavily wooded sites and hillsides.
Soils Laboratory Testing
A fully equipped soils laboratory and experienced geotechnical testing technicians are capable of performing soil identification and engineering classification, swell and suction testing, direct shear tests, moisture-density relationships, lime / cement / cemlime series, unconfined compressive strength, specific gravity, unit dry weight, grain size analysis, permeability and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests.
Construction Material Testing Services
Earthwork Inspection and Testing
Laboratory and field tesing or inspection of mass grading, pavement subgrade, utility trench backfill and building pad structural fill are provided by highly experienced technicians utilizing nuclear density gauge. Lime/Cement stabilized, water injected / and chemically treated soil subgrades are tested for specification conformance.
Concrete & Cementitious Materials Testing
Professional construction materials quality control and quality assurance services are provided to insure that materials and techniques used meet the required standards and specifications.Equipment and experienced personnel are available for observation, sampling and testing of concrete, cement mortars, grouts, masonry units, reinforcing steel and post-tensioning cables. Mix designs, batch plant inspection and coring are also provided.
Structural Steel & Fire Proofing
Inspection and testing of structural bolted / welded connections are provided by a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). In addition to visual inspection, non-destructive techniques such as dye penetrant, ultrasonic and calibrated torque wrench methods are utilized. Laboratory inspection and testing of fireproofing thickness and density are also provided.
Roofing Consulting and Inspection
On-site, full-time inspection of roofing construction are provided to assure compliance with contract documents. In-depth investigations of roofing systems and roof related problems are performed. Roof analysis including non-destructive testing / historical data compilation necessary to assess current status and predict future performance can be provided.
